Tim Volner is the founder of Sentric Group, a fractional operations firm in Salem, Oregon that builds and runs the back office for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, remodeling and landscaping contractors doing $2M to $8M who want to grow to $10M. Before Sentric, Tim ran business systems and production planning at Karman Space & Defense, where he built the system that tracked every job across a 30-person shop floor and replaced the company’s core software without stopping production for a day. In his aerospace and defense work he also cut a weekly production planning process from 40 hours to under 4. He doesn’t claim to know an owner’s trade better than they do. His work is the systems around it, like scheduling, materials, job costing, cash flow and the handoffs that let an owner take a real day off. He works with contractors across Oregon, Washington and Idaho, remotely first and on-site when it’s needed, and he believes the most generous thing you can do for an owner is tell them the truth.
